Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that emphasises diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine, under the belief that these disorders affect general health via the nervous system. It is the largest alternative medical profession, and although chiropractors have many similarities to primary care providers, they are more similar to a medical speciality like dentistry or podiatry. A thorough orthopaedic, neurological, and chiropractic examination is then performed. The findings of these examinations are explained and a treatment management plan is developed. Diagnostic imaging or other diagnostic interventions may be required depending on the presenting complaint. Chiropractic treatment then includes Massage/soft tissue work, adjustments if necessary and rehabilitative exercises.
